Neil Book – President, Chief Executive Officer and Director
Neil currently serves on the Board of Directors of The Franklin Mint, LLC (“The Franklin Mint”), and Jet Support Services, Inc. (“JSSI”). He is a graduate of the University of Delaware.
Daniel V. Hoffman – Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer
Dan is the author of two books. His book “Blackjacking: Security Threats to BlackBerry Devices, PDAs, and Cell Phones in the Enterprise” (Wiley 2007) is the most comprehensive guide available for securing mobile device-related threats. He is also author of “Implementing NAP and NAC Security Technologies: The Complete Guide to Network Access Control” (Wiley 2008).
Dan is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and a Certified Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI).
Marla Tomastik – Vice President of Operations
She holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from The Ohio State University, where she also completed much coursework in both the undergraduate and graduate CIS curricula. A PMI-certified project manager, Marla received her Master’s in Project Management, with a specialty in the management of software development projects, from The George Washington University.
Kevin has an extensive background in Sales, Marketing and Operations in the Telecom and Wireless industries. Prior to joining SMobile, Kevin served as the Director of Client Services for FedCel Corporation, a leading wireless expense management company. At FedCel, he was responsible for managing the operational needs of the enterprise at all phases of the telecom lifecycle. Kevin began his career with CTC Parker Automation.
Kevin currently serves on the Advisory Board of Hollandia Botanical Gardens, an Ohio based non-profit organization. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University.
Joseph Hagin – Chairman
In addition to his public service, Joe has held Senior Management positions at Chiquita Brands and Federated Department Stores.
Joe earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Kenyon College. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of JSSI ,The Franklin Mint and Fox Factory, Inc.

Rick is a nationally recognized Fortune 100 telecom executive who brings thirty five years of telecom experience to SMobile Systems Executive Management Team. As MCI’s President and Chief Operating Officer, he was best known for helping to lead the company out of bankruptcy and restore it back to its position as a telecom powerhouse with positive cash flow. Rick’s successful employment history also includes a heralded track record with AT&T, which included his serving as CEO of AT&T Solutions. He also spent several years as the Chairman and CEO of ADC Telecommunications.
Rick holds a B.S. degree in Engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology and is an M.I.T. Sloan Fellow.
Bob is the Chairman of Jet Support Services Inc, the world’s largest independent provider of hourly cost maintenance programs for aircraft engines and airframes. He also serves Chairman of Double R Capital Enterprises, LLC, and R.H Book, LLC. Both are private equity firms specializing in direct investments in middle market companies, domestically and internationally.
Previously, Bob served as the CEO of MBF USA, a NASDAQ-listed company that was the U.S subsidiary of the multi-billion dollar, Malaysia-based MBF Group. Bob is also a Director of The Franklin Mint. He is a graduate of New York University.

Neil is a Director of Jet Support Services Inc. He holds a BA from Johns Hopkins University and a JD from Emory University.
Joseph DaGrosa Jr. – Director

Handset Developer
As the world’s leading developer of smartphone security products, SMobile continually seeks talented, disciplined and motivated software engineers, to develop for the latest and most advanced handsets across all major mobile OS’s including Android, iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and Symbian. Applicants for all our development positions must have practical experience in real-world application development and will be expected to hit the ground running in our fast-paced environment. Core technical skills for each platform in our current focus is as follows:
Symbian
- Experience using C++ for system integration and user interfaces
- Experience with Symbian C++ (and S60 3rd or 5th Edition SDK) a most definite plus
- Experience with Carbide and/or CodeWarrior

Research Engineer
General Summary: Analyzes and designs remediation for security threats in the mobile environment. Designs features or components of software programs and develops related specifications. Develops, tests, documents and maintains complex software programs for assigned systems, applications and/or products. Codes, tests and debugs new software or enhances existing software. Troubleshoots and resolves or recommends solutions to complex software problems.
Scope of Financial Responsibility: May have a moderate impact on revenue.
Essential Job Functions:
- Monitor, report, and assess security threats as they relate to the mobile environment.
- Conduct analysis and remediation of new security threats as they are detected in the mobile environment.
- Provide engineering support to the product teams regarding enhancements to the SMobile virus-scanning engine.
- Responsible for maintaining Intellectual Property in regard to the SMobile security products.
- Codes, tests and debugs new software or enhances existing virus-scanning engine. Troubleshoots and resolves or recommends solutions to complex software problems.
- Provides senior level support and mentoring by evaluating product enhancements for feasibility studies and providing completion time estimates. Assists management with the planning, scheduling, and assigning of projects to software development personnel. Advises in the evaluation and solution of highly technical and complex development problems and bugs. Assists in the training of staff in software maintenance and development procedures. Assists management in the preparation of budgets and business plans.
- Ensures product quality by participating in design reviews, code reviews, and other mechanisms. Interacts effectively with Quality Assurance team. Participates in developing test procedures for system quality and performance.
- Writes and maintains technical documentation for assigned software projects. Provides initial input on new or modified product/application system features or enhancements for user documentation. Reviews user documentation for technical accuracy and completeness. Documents system/environment dependent characteristics and user installation instructions. Describes code function and relationships. Participates in the development of requirement documentation for new or existing product/application system features or enhancements.

Job Description
Reporting to the Head of Business Development, the Manager Business Development, Financial will identify, engage and enroll go-to-market partners for selling SMobile’s mobile security portfolio in the financial market. The candidate will nurture external relations and secure licensing/acquisition/partnership opportunities with several categories of innovation partners: best-of-breed solution providers, technology companies, system integrators and financial industry marketing groups.
Responsibilities:
- Explore and assess channel opportunities that support the strategic objectives and technology needs of SMobile.
- Develop and maintain relationships with strategic channel partners.
- Cultivate partnerships to pool R&D resources and take advantage of sales opportunities.
- Facilitate negotiations to acquire and/or license IP, help develop/execute contracts that define the parameters of partnerships and alliances, and direct the tactical execution of partnerships and alliances.
Skills
- Undergraduate degree preferably in a technical discipline (e.g., engineering, computer science, etc).
- Experience with R&D project management or new technology development, technical business development or technology business consulting.
